Privacy policy
What personal information this site collects, why, how long it is kept and how it is erased. It collects only what messages, comments and likes need, and counts visits without recording who made them.
What is collected, and why
- Messages: your name (optional), email address and message, to read your message and reply.
- Comments: a nickname, a password and the comment, to show comments and let their writers delete them or open private ones. The password is stored only in a form that cannot be turned back into it.
- Likes: a random visitor number made in your browser, so one person likes a post only once. The server keeps it only in scrambled form.
- Visits: the page opened, the day, its language and the kind of site you came from (such as a search engine or a social network), to see which writing is read. Only daily totals are kept, with no IP address, visitor number or cookie. So that a reload is not counted twice, your connection is remembered in scrambled form, in memory only, for 30 minutes.
- Connection: the IP address a message, comment or like comes from, used only to stop spam and floods of requests and stored only in scrambled form.
None of it is used for anything else.
How long it is kept
- Messages: one year from receipt. After that, the name, email and message are erased and only the topic and date remain.
- Comments: until the writer or I delete them. Deleting erases the nickname, the comment and the password at once.
- Likes: until the like is taken back.
- Visit totals: kept while the site runs, as they say nothing about who visited.
- Scrambled IP addresses, and the codes used to spot repeated messages: 90 days, then erased automatically.
Ask, and I will erase your information at any time, whatever the period. Erasing means deleting it from the database.
Sharing
Your information is never sold or given to anyone else, unless the law requires it.
Services that store it, and where
The site and its data run on the services below. A message, comment or like goes to them over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) the moment you send it.
- Supabase, Inc. (United States): runs the database, which is stored in the Singapore region.
- Render Services, Inc. (United States): runs the site and its server.
- Google LLC (United States): my email (Gmail), used to reply to messages.
If you do not want your information stored outside your country, do not use the contact form, comments or likes; they cannot work without it.
Security
- Names, email addresses, nicknames, messages and comments are stored encrypted.
- Passwords, IP addresses and visitor numbers are stored only in a form that cannot be turned back into them.
- Only I can sign in to manage the site.
Your browser, and outside resources
- The site sets no cookies. To remember your likes, it keeps your visitor number (ra.visitor) and the posts you liked (ra.liked) in your browser’s storage (localStorage). Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes them.
- Open any page with ?ra-nocount=1 at the end of its address, and this browser’s visits are no longer counted; the choice is kept in its storage (ra.noCount). ?ra-nocount=0 counts them again.
- Fonts come from Google Fonts and jsDelivr, which receive connection details such as your IP address.
- The hosting service (Render) may keep access logs for security and operation.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or erase your information, or to stop its use. Email me at orukim@gmail.com and I will act on it without delay.
You can also delete a comment yourself with the password you set when writing it.
The person responsible for personal information is the site’s owner, Oru Kim (orukim@gmail.com).
You can also report a privacy problem to Korea’s Personal Information Infringement Report Center (privacy.kisa.or.kr, phone 118).
