Reckless Attempts

by Oru Kim

On my way to becoming a Legal Structure Strategist and a Legal Engineer

My dream was to be a lawyer who helps people through the law, but for lack of money I had to set it aside. So I decided to help people in whatever way I can right now. At work, I refine the papers and procedures that keep companies in order. With artists, I read contracts line by line. At church, I fill the gaps in its administration. After hours, I study the law behind all of it.

Taken one at a time, these look like reckless attempts—I am not a lawyer yet, and the fields have little in common. Put side by side, they are the same work: turning what people used to do by feel into rules and procedures, and building new order and structure through the law.

I am a Legal Structure Strategist who designs that structure, and a Legal Engineer who uses AI to make those reckless attempts actually work. Reckless Attempts is the record of those attempts.
